I like this article!
It explains the numbering system (7 digits) used to identify recyclable plastics... which are not all easily recyclable. You still have to sort them correctly, take them to the right places and ensure that they are really recycled.
Unfortunately, and this is a scandal in itself, we have all heard that the vast majority of plastic waste is not recycled . Often, plastics are thrown away and buried or burned somewhere in the world. Other articles will follow to this effect.
Let's return to the article in question, we also learn that plastics are often divided into three categories including the known thermoplastics: grocery bags (increasingly banned in Quebec - well done!), the famous plastic bottles for water, containers for other liquids, packaging of all kinds, etc.
According to the article, the application of a recycling code (7-digit numbering system) is not yet mandatory. Which is nonsense IMHO.
Be on the lookout for the recycling code and recycle as much as possible...or reuse!
Corsair's goal: build more than 100 recycling plants by 2030! With well-paid jobs!
Enjoy reading the article in reference.
